We love learning and building using LEGO pieces. We most often use our DUPLO set but any building bricks can work here depending on the activity and age of the children. Most of these activities require you to write on your blocks. You can use a dry erase marker but I actually have the most luck using a window crayon (Crayola or Kwik Stick) so it doesn’t smudge.
Compound Words: Encourage the student to combine two words to build one compound word. Use a larger block or a green Tray.
Rhyming: Connect the blocks with words that rhyme.
Building a City: Encourage young learners to build a city according to numbers you have written on paper or playing cards you have lined up.
LEGO Addition: Solve simple math problems by building with the blocks.
Vowel and Consonant Sort: Use longer blocks on the bottom to sort stacks of vowels and consonants.
Name Building: Practice building your name by stacking and connecting small blocks in order.
